Laparoscopic Management of Retrocecal Ruptured Appendix

Recommended first-line imaging consists of point-of-care or formal ultrasonography. Appendectomy via laparoscopy is the standard treatment for acute appendicitis. However, intravenous antibiotics may be considered first-line therapy in selected patients. Appendicitis can cause serious complications, such as A ruptured appendix. A rupture spreads infection throughout your abdomen (peritonitis). Possibly life-threatening, this condition requires immediate surgery to remove the appendix and clean your abdominal cavity.
