I am a gynecologist in the Philippines. I work as a resident gynecologist in Fabella Hospital, Manila. I want to take admission in a 3-week laparoscopic training course in India. I have taken the first dose of the Covishield vaccine. I want to know, is it necessary to get fully vaccinated before joining the course. I want to come in July 2021. |

An expanding list of Institute Globally and universities say students must have received a COVID-19 vaccine before arriving at on-campus training. According to the CDC guideline at World Laparoscopy Hospital, we have made it mandatory to have participants fully vaccinated before joining our course. Adding Covid-19 vaccination necessity to our participant surgeon and gynecologist was a decision taken when COVID Pandemic strikes. The immunization requirements will help provide a safer and more robust institute experience for our students. If allowed on campus, unvaccinated students will likely be required to continue asymptomatic testing and could be excluded from activities like lab and operating room sessions The pandemic is trending in the wrong direction, infecting every age group, exactly the age group of college and graduate students. Although this group is less likely to die from COVID-19, they can experience lifelong disability from heart, lung, and brain damage. Recent second-wave outbreaks in India have shown that voluntary compliance and elaborate codes of conduct alone are not the answer without vaccination. |
