Duties and Responsibilities.
 
Clinical:
 
1  Attend to emergency and elective surgery cases at the hospital Oversee the surgery department as well as
    act at the assistant head of clinical services
2  Direct and coordinate activities of nurses, assistants, specialists, residents and other medical staff.
3  Provide oversight for the volunteers at the hospital
4  Conduct research to develop and test surgical techniques that can improve operating procedures and outcomes
5  Provide consultation and surgical assistance to other physicians and surgeons.
6  Supervise clinical duties undertaken by staff below you such as student Doctors, Medical Officers, Clinical
    Officers and other cadres in the organization.
 
Management activities :
1   Ensure development and implementation of program goals and objectives by designing and evaluating
     program policies and procedures, collaborating on necessary program changes and improvements.
2   Ensure there is always a clear handover of responsibilities when off duty and that the department is covered at all
     times by personally having a second look at the department time table.
3   Develop annual department work plans of your department (s).
4   Delegate duties within departments accordingly and supervise all department activities.
5   Manage the delivery of annual work plans.
6  Oversee quality improvement projects in the hospital.
