Dr. R.K. Mishra at World Laparoscopy Hospital demonstrates Laparoscopic Myomectomy for a 20 CM large Intramural Fibroid Uterus in this video. Uterine leiomyomas or myomas are non-cancerous tumors that develop from the smooth muscles of the uterus. While most myomas do not cause any symptoms, their size and location can result in complications ranging from infertility to life-threatening uterine hemorrhage. In the case of very large myomas, the procedure can be recommended as a routine procedure for patients only after evaluating its technical feasibility, complication rates, conversion rate, and the surgeon's long-term experience. However, the author reports a successful case of laparoscopic removal of a large myoma, indicating that the size of the myoma may not matter if the surgeon's ability to perform the procedure is unlimited.
Uterine leiomyomas, also known as myomas or fibroids, are benign smooth muscle tumors that arise from the myometrium. While most myomas do not cause any clinical symptoms and do not require intervention, their size and location can determine their potential to become symptomatic and cause problems such as infertility or life-threatening uterine hemorrhage.
In cases where myomas are particularly large, the feasibility and safety of laparoscopic myomectomy should be evaluated based on the surgeon's technical skills, experience, and complication rates. Despite the challenges posed by very large myomas, there have been successful cases of laparoscopic removal, demonstrating that the size of the myoma does not necessarily limit the feasibility of laparoscopic myomectomy if the surgeon is skilled and experienced.
In a video demonstrating a laparoscopic myomectomy performed by Dr. R. K. Mishra at World Laparoscopy Hospital, a 20 cm intramural fibroid uterus was successfully removed. This procedure can be recommended as a routine option for patients, provided the surgeon has the necessary skills and experience.
Laparoscopic Myomectomy for 20 CM Large Intramural Fibroid is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that involves the removal of a large fibroid tumor from the uterus using laparoscopic instruments. This surgical procedure is typically performed by a skilled laparoscopic surgeon who has received specialized training in advanced laparoscopic techniques.
Intramural fibroids are benign tumors that grow within the muscle walls of the uterus. While most intramural fibroids are small and do not cause any symptoms, larger fibroids can cause severe pain, heavy menstrual bleeding, and other complications. In some cases, surgical intervention may be necessary to remove the fibroid.
During the laparoscopic myomectomy procedure, the patient is put under general anesthesia. The surgeon makes several small incisions in the abdomen to insert a laparoscope and other surgical instruments. The laparoscope is equipped with a camera that allows the surgeon to visualize the uterus and the fibroid.
The surgeon then uses specialized laparoscopic instruments to cut and remove the fibroid from the uterus. Once the fibroid is removed, the incisions are closed, and the patient is allowed to recover from the anesthesia in a recovery room.
One of the main advantages of laparoscopic myomectomy over traditional open surgery is that it is a minimally invasive procedure that results in less pain, smaller incisions, and a shorter recovery time. In addition, laparoscopic myomectomy has been shown to have a lower rate of complications than traditional open surgery.
Overall, laparoscopic myomectomy is a safe and effective surgical procedure that can be used to remove large intramural fibroids and relieve the symptoms associated with these tumors. However, it is important to consult with a qualified gynecologist or laparoscopic surgeon to determine whether this procedure is appropriate for your individual needs and circumstances.

Laparoscopic myomectomy, when performed by an experienced surgeon, can be considered a safe technique, with an extremely low failure rate and good results in terms of the outcome of pregnancy. Uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumors occurring in women in the reproductive age group. The prevalence rates quoted in the literature range from 20 – 50%, based on postmortem studies.[1] The prevalence varies with age, with an increase in the late reproductive period. Current trends suggest that there is a tendency to delay pregnancy to a later age when the incidence of fibroids is more. Indeed, uterine fibroids are detected in a small, but a significant number of infertile women. If a causal relationship between fibroids and infertility can be established, treatment is indicated for enhancing fertility. Laparoscopic myomectomy was described for the first time in 1979, exclusively for subserous fibroids. What a nice video on 20 CM Large Intramural Fibroid's Laparoscopic Myomectomy. Thank you Dr. Mishra for teaching doctors from all over the world.

Uterine fibroids are a common type of noncancerous tumor that can grow in and on your uterus. Not all fibroids cause symptoms, but when they do, symptoms can include heavy menstrual bleeding, back pain, frequent urination and pain during sex. Small fibroids often don’t need treatment, but larger fibroids can be treated with medications or surgery.

Dr. R.K. Mishra at World Laparoscopy Hospital showcases Laparoscopic Myomectomy for a sizable 20 CM intramural fibroid uterus. Demonstrating technical prowess, this successful case challenges the notion that myoma size dictates procedural feasibility, emphasizing the surgeon's skill.
