Da Viinci Robotic Surgery
This video demonstrate da Vinci Surgical System is a robotic surgical system made by the American company Intuitive Surgical. Approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2000, it is designed to facilitate surgery using a minimally invasive approach, and is controlled by a surgeon from a console.
Da Vinci robotic surgery is a type of minimally invasive surgical procedure that uses a robotic system to perform surgery. The system is made up of several components, including a console for the surgeon, robotic arms with specialized surgical instruments, and a high-definition 3D camera that provides a magnified view of the surgical site. Here is an overview of the procedure:
Anesthesia: The patient will be placed under general anesthesia.
Port placement: Several small incisions will be made in the abdomen to allow access for the robotic arms and camera. Typically, four to five ports will be placed.
Robotic system setup: The surgeon will sit at a console and control the robotic arms and instruments, which will be inserted through the ports. The camera will provide a magnified, high-definition 3D view of the surgical site.
Surgical procedure: The surgeon will use the robotic arms and instruments to perform the surgical procedure. The instruments are designed to mimic the movements of the human hand, but with greater precision and control.
Closure of incisions: The incisions will be closed with sutures or surgical glue.
Recovery: The patient will be monitored in the recovery room until they wake up from anesthesia, and then will be transferred to a regular hospital room. They may experience mild pain or discomfort, which can be managed with medication.
Da Vinci robotic surgery is generally associated with less postoperative pain, shorter hospital stays, and quicker recovery times compared to traditional open surgery. However, as with any surgical procedure, there are potential risks and complications, such as bleeding, infection, and injury to surrounding organs. It is important to discuss the risks and benefits of Da Vinci robotic surgery with your healthcare provider to determine if it is the best option for you.
