This video demonstrate Hysteroscopic Instruments Demonstration Lecture by Dr R K Mishra at World Laparoscopy Hospital. Understanding hysteroscopic instrument is essential to perform safe laparoscopy. Hysteroscopy can be defined as the examination of the uterine cavity with an endoscope inserted through the cervix with the purpose of diagnosis or treatment of possible abnormalities.

Hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that allows visualization of the inside of the uterus using a hysteroscope, a thin, lighted tube with a camera and lens attached to it. Here are some common instruments used during hysteroscopy:

Hysteroscope: The hysteroscope is the main instrument used during hysteroscopy. It is a thin, flexible or rigid tube that is inserted through the cervix and into the uterus. The hysteroscope has a camera and lens at the end that allows the surgeon to visualize the inside of the uterus.

Fluid management system: A fluid management system is used to inflate the uterus with fluid during the procedure. The fluid helps to visualize the inside of the uterus and remove any debris or tissue that may be present. The system consists of tubing, a pump, and a container of fluid.

Graspers: Graspers are instruments used to manipulate tissue or objects inside the uterus. They can be used to remove small tissue samples for biopsy or to remove polyps or fibroids.

Scissors: Scissors can be used to cut or trim tissue inside the uterus, such as polyps or fibroids.

Biopsy forceps: Biopsy forceps are used to remove small samples of tissue for biopsy. They are designed to grasp and remove tissue without causing excessive trauma or bleeding.

Electrosurgical instruments: Electrosurgical instruments, such as a resectoscope, can be used to remove tissue or cauterize blood vessels inside the uterus. These instruments use electrical energy to cut or coagulate tissue.

Endometrial ablation devices: Endometrial ablation devices can be used to destroy the lining of the uterus, which can help to reduce heavy menstrual bleeding. These devices use various methods, such as radiofrequency or thermal energy, to destroy the tissue.

It is important for healthcare providers to use the appropriate instruments for each individual patient and to follow proper training and maintenance protocols to ensure safe and effective use of the instruments.

Myoma screw: A myoma screw is used to manipulate and stabilize the uterus during hysteroscopy. It is a long, thin instrument with a screw at the end that can be inserted through the cervix and screwed into the uterine wall to help stabilize the uterus during the procedure.

Dilators: Dilators are used to open and widen the cervix before inserting the hysteroscope. They can be made of metal or plastic and come in different sizes to accommodate the patient's anatomy.

Uterine manipulators: Uterine manipulators are instruments used to manipulate the uterus during hysteroscopy. They can be used to tilt or rotate the uterus to provide better visualization or to expose specific areas of the uterus.

Suction and irrigation devices: Suction and irrigation devices can be used to remove fluid or debris from the uterus during the procedure. They can be used to remove excess fluid or blood and provide a clear view of the uterus.

Light source: A light source is used to provide illumination during hysteroscopy. It is usually a high-intensity light that is attached to the hysteroscope and provides a bright, clear view of the uterus.

It is important for healthcare providers to have a thorough understanding of the instruments used during hysteroscopy and to follow proper training and maintenance protocols to ensure safe and effective use of the instruments.
