Sir , should the hydrogen peroxide used for cleaning the instrument tip be autoclaved before using ? Should we open a fresh one for each case ?

Hydrogen peroxide is commonly used as a disinfectant for cleaning surgical instruments. However, it is not recommended to autoclave hydrogen peroxide as it can break down and form potentially harmful byproducts under high heat and pressure.

Instead, a fresh solution of hydrogen peroxide should be prepared for each use. This can be done by diluting the hydrogen peroxide with water to the appropriate concentration, as recommended by the manufacturer. The diluted solution should then be used to clean the instrument tip, ensuring that the entire surface of the instrument is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

It is important to note that hydrogen peroxide can be irritating to the skin and eyes, and caution should be taken when handling the solution. Gloves should be worn when preparing the solution, and any spills should be cleaned up promptly.

In summary, hydrogen peroxide should not be autoclaved before use, and a fresh solution should be prepared for each use. The solution should be prepared according to the manufacturer's instructions, and caution should be taken when handling the solution.
