I am using both low-viscosity and high-viscosity fluid media which can be used for distention during hysteroscopy. My question is that is the maximum fluid pressure used in Hysteroscopic Myomectomy? |

Dear Dr Khatri Hysteroscopy performed with liquid media at a sufficient pressure so that it can give proper vision, usually the pressure between 70 mm and 90 mm Hg provide adequate intrauterine pressure. Occasionally 150 to 180mm of Hg will bring satisfactory uterine distention. Depending on the amount of intraoperative bleeding, an adequate pressure and flow rate of the media with separate channel is necessary to have a clear operative field. Excessive pressure can have risk of vasovagal shock or embolism. It can also create excessive intravasation of the fluid. |
