Open hernia for abdominal was is popular for many years. Is laparoscopic repair of ventral hernia the ideal approach. In my opinion Laparoscopic ventral hernia repair is also not free of complication and recurrence is common possibility. |

Dear Dr. Ghanshyam Yadav, Smaller incisional hernias with a transverse diameter whic is less than10 cm can be repaired successfully by a laparoscopic approach. Major defects more than 10 cm are best repaired by an open operation. The simplest and most versatile technique is the onlay method. Hernias with loss of domain can only be repaired by an open method supplemented by components' separation. The advantages of the laparoscopic incisional hernia repair experience less postoperative pain than those undergoing open surgery, return to normal activity sooner and report improved satisfaction with invisible scars, length of hospital stay is shorter by 1-2 days and carries lower complication rates. |

Dear Dr. Ghanshyam Yadav, In my opinion all type of ventral hernia can be repaired by laparoscopic Intra Peritoneal Onlay Mesh repair. We have performed even the huge hernia by IPOM technique and results are much better compared to open surgery. |
