Dear Dr Che Best port position for a patient who has previous laparotomy is either Palmer's Point or Hasson's Technique. Palmer's point upper quadrant Veress needle access is a safe and effective method of establishing pneumoperitoneum in patients subjected to laparoscopic surgery after previous midline laparotomy scar. Please keep in mind that nasogastric tube should must be in place and stomach should be fully deflated. With regard Dr R K Mishra |
