Please describe what are the various port closure technique I can use and what is the best technique of port closure to prevent post-operative hernia. we always prefer to use 10mm port during myomectomy and I don't want to close the port blindly. One of my patient develop hernia after one year so now I dont want to take a chance and must be careful during the port closure. |

Fascial closure of port sites represents in many situation essential and challenging issue in laparoscopic surgery. The standard blind pickup and closure technique for fascia at the port site through a small skin incision can be tricky, risky and frustrating, Many surgeon often do blind suturing of the fascial defect with increased consequent risk of incomplete suture and lesions of intraperitoneal organs or larger skin incisions. For correct port closure, You can use fascial closure needle, Suture passer, Aneurism needle as well as Veress needle, Please type Laparoscopic Port Closure Technique in Youtube and you will learn various port closure technique demonstrated by me. It is a procedure so it is better to see video than to describe in text. All the port closure video is also there in your member area which you can download. |
