Hi sir, After TLH i was giving through wash to operative site with normal saline, during washing with normal saliine my suction canula perforated (poked) the sigmoid. I sutured sigmoid with vicryl 3-0. Being gyanecologist i didnt called to surgeon. so i am afraid of injury and post op complication. please guide what will be the best management. Injury was clean no fecal matter was coming through injury thats why i sutured injury plz guide sir |

Dear Dr Rathod Sorry for giving late reply. This was a mechanical injury by suction and not an electrosurgical injury. Primary full thickness closure is sufficient. You dont need to call the surgeon and waste the time. Before the fecal matter spilled out you have closed it by intracorporeal knot this is fantastic. Your patient will recover uneventful but please must have a drain and nil orally postoperative. Broad spectrum antibiotic and careful monitoring is required. With regard Dr R K Mishra |
