Dr R J Jaisawal The Levita Magnetic system technology has invented an instrument which is used to grab onto the abdominal organ like in a traditional laparoscopic way. After introducing this magnetic device inside the abdomen and after holding the organ it is disconnected from the shaft while still holding onto the organ and the magnet used to pull on it. By manipulating the magnet, the surgeon exposes the rest of the organ and makes it possible to make cuts that would otherwise be hidden. The magnetic force is strong enough to firmly anchor the internal unit against the inside of the abdominal wall directly below the external unit. The magnetic attraction between the two allows the user to accurately position the inside unit by rotating and sliding the external unit. This is a new device which is useful to reduce the number of port in laparoscopic surgery. You can buy this device from Levita Magnetics, a company headquartered in San Mateo, California.
