Dear Dr. Mohammed Evidence shows that the coronavirus mainly spreads during close contact and via respiratory droplets. It may also be contracted by touching contaminated surfaces on which the virus can live for up to 72 hours. Reported average time from exposure to onset of symptoms varies between two and fourteen days, with an average of five days. There is evidence regarding Corona viral dissemination during gynecologic procedures due to the presence of the virus in the blood, stool, and aerosolization of the virus, especially when using the electrosurgical generator. As hysteroscopy is not an aerosol-generating procedure, the actual risk is unknown, but the theoretical risk is always there. According to our hospital guidelines, we are only performing emergency hysteroscopic procedures. The elective procedure we are avoiding due to the risk of infection to the patient or gynecologist. |

If more than one patient is scheduled to be at the facility at the same time, ensure that the facility provides adequate space to ensure the appropriate social distancing recommendation between patients. |
