During the french position, the patient is turned in a reversed Trendelenburg position and slightly to the left. A four-port technique is used. The optical port is located at the umbilicus. The two operating ports are inserted at right and left hypochondrium in such a way that enables manipulation of the angle of 60 degrees between the tips of the instruments to imitate the natural relationship between the hands as far as possible.
