Bilateral Inguinal (Groin) Hernia Surgery
The main advantages of robotic or laparoscopic hernia repair are lower risk of infection, less postoperative pain, and quicker return to work or normal activities. These advantages are amplified for patients with hernias on both sides of their abdomens or recurrent inguinal hernias.
You should be able to go home on the day of, or day after, your operation. You'll need to ask someone to take you home and you should follow any instructions you're given at hospital. After the operation, your groin will feel sore and uncomfortable. You'll be given painkillers to help relieve this discomfort.

Bilateral inguinal hernia surgery is a common surgical procedure performed to repair two hernias that occur in the groin area, one on each side. An inguinal hernia occurs when a part of the intestine or other tissues bulge through a weak point or tear in the abdominal wall, causing a visible lump or bulge in the groin area. The surgery typically involves making an incision in the groin area, pushing the bulging tissue back into the abdomen, and strengthening the abdominal wall with a mesh or other materials. The surgery is usually performed under general anesthesia and can take anywhere from one to three hours.
