Dear Cyllen Villaflores In our opinion you should get laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy done. At this age of 22 years you should not go for hysterectomy. One advantage of laparoscopic cystectomy is that the incisions are smaller (1/2 inch) and much less uncomfortable than that of Laparotomy. So people are able to resume normal activity in about 2 weeks. So Laparoscopic cystectomy has many advantages like : * Less postoperative pain * May shorten hospital stay * May result in a quicker return to bowel function * Quicker return to normal activity * Better cosmetic results However, the surgeon must be experienced in the procedure before these benefits can be seen or else complications may occur. Disadvantages include a possible longer operating time (depends on how much of the operation is performed laparoscopically), higher costs and an increased risk of damage to the urinary tract. We can perform this surgery at our hospital and it will cost you 1,000 USD only. With regards M.K. Gupta |

I'm 48 yrs old from Cebu and I have myoma at around 8 cm. My OB-Gyne advised me to undergo total hysterectomy but I can imagine myself to be under knife again since my two sons are all CS. Is there laparoscopic hysterectomy here in cebu and how much? thank you & God Bless. Dear Mrs Joy Laparoscopic Hysterectomy is a safe procedure with faster recovery and minimal pain. I think you should go for it. In Cebu also we think there should must be facility for it. With regard Sadhana |

Hello, I have sister who has ovarian cyst and its 30cm. Her ovary makes her painful, and the doc. Said she need to undergo operation as soon as possible,,, I want to know how much should we spend and what hospital and place, please answer me back. God bless. Dear Pastor Laparoscopic Ovarian Cystectomy is a good option for your sister in skilled hand. However before doing laparoscopic surgery CA 125 is necessary to rule out malignancy. You can get this done at any good hospital of Minimal Access Surgery Including World Laparoscopy Hospital. You need to spend only one day in hospital. With regard Sadhana |

Hi dr i have cyst in my left ovary and the size is 50 mm but this is the simple cyst ,now i have pain in my abdomen , I'm 20 years old please answer me !} Dear Mita The treatment of simple ovarian cyst is regular followup with ultrasonography and CA 125 estimation. If the cyst shows evidence of rapid increase in size or pain in the abdomen caused by the torsion of the ovary then diagnostic laparoscopy with ovarian cystectomy is done. Thanks With Regards Dr J S Chowhan |

Greetings! I went for healthscreening around May 2016 and the result of my CA 125 is 39. My doctor advised me to see a gynecological for further check up. When I went for check up my doctor did an ultrasound and she found a 6 cm cyst. The doctor said I need to go for surgery to get it removed. Should I really need to go for surgery? Can a medication make that cyst disolve? Is the size that alarming given my CA 125 is not that high? If really need to remove through surgery, do I need to do the surgery as soon as possible? or can it be delay for another year? Dear lee Your cyst size is not that big. I need to know your age and your obstetric history for the further planning of your treatment. You can go for the surgery if the cyst ha started creating a problem as most of the cyst are symptom less. If it goes on increasing it can affect your fertility so you need to take care of the size. Going for the surgery will be better as sooner or latter it is going to create a problem, so why not get rid of it in its initial stage then waiting it to increase in size. Ovarian Cystectomy can be performed for this. with Regards Dr Rahul |

Hi i m 48 years old. I am also facing same problem of ovarian cyst with 11.4cm but it having thickness of 3mm echogenic smooth wall measuring. I have 4 surgery done before for another reason. sir plz suggest me what to do? Dear Savitri As your cyst size is big you need to go for the surgery for this. For this you can go for ovarian cystectomy. Ovarian Cystectomy is a surgical excision of an ovarian cyst. Ovarian cysts are small fluid-filled sacs that develop on the ovaries. Ovaries are the almond shaped organs located one on each side of the uterus. Once a month, during your menstrual cycle, a follicle forms on your ovary. A follicle is a fluid filled sac that contains an egg. Usually a follicle release mature egg from your ovary (ovulation). In some cases, if the follicle fails to rupture and release an egg, the fluid stays in the follicle and forms a cyst. This is called an ovarian cyst. Individuals with ovarian cysts often do not experience any however some women may experience pressure, swelling, pain in the abdomen, pain during intercourse and abnormal or unusually painful periods |

I just want to consult if laparoscopy is possible for right ovarian cyst measuring 5.34×4.71x4.48cm in Ultrasound and 49x32x36mm in CT scan. her CA125 level is 41.7. can you give your insight about this case. Thank you! Reply: Dear Maidam/ Sir Yes it is very much posssible to do laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy.
