I am going to be having C02 laparoscopic surgery on Wednesday of this week for vaginal precancerous conditions at stage 3, and I wanted to know what the procedure entailed and what was going to be done. I can get few answers from the medical staff where I will have surgery. i have already had all of the tests up to the MRI, and colonoscopy, and do have swelling in my left lymph node that was diagnosed as an infection of some type. |

Dear Cindi The phrase vaginal precancerous conditions describes changes that can exist in the skin of the vagina. vaginal precancerous conditions is just not cancer and in some women it disappears neglected. However, if the changes are more severe, there is a chance that cancer may develop after many years, and so it is referred to as a pre-cancerous condition. vaginal precancerous conditions can take place within an area with the vagina, nevertheless it more frequently affects a number of different areas at the same time. If only an area is affected, it is most often the upper third in the vagina. Nearly all women are identified as having it while sporting lab tests for some other. For instance, it could be first detected by the smear test or with a smear taken from the top vaginal vault smear after a hysterectomy. Surgery may be recommended if you find any chance of there being undetected cancer within your vagina. It could be used if vaginal precancerous conditions comes home after previous treatment. When simply a small area of your vagina is affected, it might be simple to remove that division of tissue, together with some surrounding normal tissue. With regards to the amount removed, your remaining vaginal tissue might be stretched to ensure you're still able to have sex. If vaginal precancerous conditions is more widespread, surgery may involve removing part or all of your vagina or partial or total vaginectomy. A brand new vagina could be created through the operation, using tissue from other parts of the body. Your gynecologist will make sure you receive information and support to assist you get ready for surgery. Please ask your gynecologist for more detail. With regard J S Chowhan |
