I am proud to say that I belong to this wonderful temple of knowledge: World Laparoscopy Hospital. I was highly elated when I got the admission in Fellowship and Diploma in Minimal Access Surgery integrated course here. As I had always wished to take laparoscopic surgery training from a place that has cooperative professors, a state of the art infrastructure, huge skill development resources, Wet laboratories pertaining to latest surgical technologies and clean campus with a large canteen that serves very hygienic food.

World Laparoscopy Hospital, Gurugram is the blend of all these. The laparoscopic courses, expert lectures, operation theater visits and other co-curricular activities manifolds our knowledge in surgical as well in other necessary life long activities. The congenial environment here in Cyber City, Gurugram has given me numerous opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities and groom my personality.

This is the place where the surgeon and gynecologist work hand in hand bringing laurels for their surgical skill by winning in the real principle of MIS. The institute environment provides us a platform where we can develop ourselves uniquely and prove to be an expert in highly competitive world. Since last 20 years, WLH has gifted the veterans to the fields of minimal access surgery. I am fortunate to be a part of this great institute and I promise to enlighten the society with the flame of knowledge passed down to me from this auspicious place.

I did my Master in Minimal Access Surgery degree course from World Laparoscopy Hospital. The minimal access surgery department has provided well experience visiting faculties and professors during the one year of course. I got chance to operate with great surgeons of India. This course has helped me experience and explore many new things which is related to the laparoscopic and robotic surgery. The department got a very small number of students in its Master Program and this gave us the opportunity to have more and close interaction with the operating surgeon and faculties.

I enjoyed my time at World Laparoscopy Hospital and also I got to meet varieties of label mates from different countries and states. I believe that laparoscopic and robotic surgery as a field is and always will be something very personal, the passion for which comes from within the deepest parts of an individual. One just needs to strive hard to harvest this passion from under the ocean and I am glad to say that the Minimal Access Surgery Department of World Laparoscopy Hospital was able to help find me this treasure in myself. I would say, the guidance and support I received from my mentors Dr R K Mishra was beyond comparison as, they have always strives in bringing out the passion for laparoscopic surgery out of every other surgeon, who simultaneously had the willingness to travel on the path of self-discovery.

When I first entered World Laparoscopy Hospital, Gurugaon I was anxious about my future of laparoscopic Surgery. I was confused that how-come I can learn laparoscopic surgery in just two week time. But when course started I realized that the institute aims at enhancing our knowledge, skills and abilities as a laparoscopic surgeon. It, in fact, didn’t leave the attitude part behind as well. These few weeks at WLH were the best time in my life concerning learning, experience and gaining exposure to fields relevant to my discipline of bariatric minimal access surgery, all due to my faculty members.

The most important single ingredient in the formula of success as a surgeon is knowing how to get along with patients , and we as minimal access surgeon trained at World Laparoscopy Hospital learnt that aspect by acquiring the RIGHT ATTITUDE.

The professors are as international as the students and each have their own method of projecting knowledge. The practical approach of the courses, the professional experience of professors in their areas of teaching, the friendliness of the skill lab staff, the atmosphere, the international aspect along with links that were created made my stay in Delhi memorable.
