Today was the 1st day of the batch. Prof Dr R K Mishra started with power
point presentation that included introduction of minimal access surgery
in which history, present status and the future of the minimal
access surgery was discussed. After that lecture on the basic component of the
laparoscopic surgery that included Ergonomics, Task analysing and
the engineering was discussed. These basic component are the main pillar of the
laparoscopy and if any one falls it will lead to the collapse of the laparoscopy
surgery. Ergonomics singly accounts for
90% of the laparoscopic surgery , if your ergonomics is good then
chance of complication is much less. By looking at the surgeons standing
position, his alignment we can say that
how is going to perform the surgery. After that instrument design and the process
of sterilisation of the instrument was discussed.
