          I am very happy to tell all our readers that World Journal of Laparoscopic Surgeons (WALS) is now
          a primary source for peer-reviewed, original and review articles on the newest techniques and
          applications in operative laparoscopy, endoscopy and da Vinci robotic surgery. Its editorial board
          includes many of the surgeons who pioneered the use of these revolutionary advanced minimal
          access surgical techniques. Within the last few years, number of online submissions have
          tremendously increased.
             More recently, the introduction of robotics in the field of minimal access surgery has caused an
          earthquake, especially in India. When I was at Harvard Medical School, Boston, I was impressed
          by the fantastic and efficient organization of the daily work of the robotic theaters. We all understand that robotic-assisted
          surgery is nothing else than laparoscopic surgery with the help of highly sophisticated technology. Now in World Journal
          of Laparoscopic Surgeons, we have started including regular articles of da Vinci robotic surgery.
             We have to wake up as fast as possible as a da Vinci surgeon of new millennium and realize that we are living in the
          21st century. If we do not do it ourselves and start learning robotic surgery as laparoscopic surgeon, other specialties will
          do it for us, if not patient organizations or health care authorities. That is why WALS journal provides complete, timely,
          accurate, practical coverage of laparoscopic techniques and procedures; current clinical and basic science research;
          preoperative and postoperative patient management; complications in laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery and new
          developments in laparoscopic and da Vinci robotic instrumentation and technology.
             I hope that new changes of advanced technology will be appreciated by readers and we will receive their feedbacks
          and suggestions as we have always seen in the past.
