THIRD WORLD CONGRESS OF LAPAROSCOPIC SURGEONS

The World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons (WALS) has been created under the Societies of Registration Act, 1860, in order to put greater focus on this important branch of surgery and help in its growth. The WALS also endevours to promote education, training and research.  The WALS has held several camps and organized Two International Congresses on “Recent Advances in Minimal Access Surgery” in collaboration with Capt Ayush Purusartha Foundation (CAPF) on March 14-16, 2008 and February 14-15, 2010 in New Delhi. Both were great success.
 
The WALS have taken initiative to incentives greater innovation in the laparoscopic surgery. In keeping with its adjectives, the WALS in collaboration with Capt Ayush Purusartha Foundation (CAPF) is holding the Third Laparoscopic Congress on February 14-15, 2012 at World Laparoscopy Hospital, Cyber City, Gurgaon, NCR, Delhi, India.  
 
The Congress will provide a platform to address key issues, devolves on strengths and weakness, identifies technological gaps, opportunities and challenges and develop a road map to take further to its rightful place. Hence the theme: “Recent Advances in Robotic and Laparoscopic Surgery.”
 
OBJECTIVES
 
● To address current   applications of robotics in various specialties of surgery and assess clinical efficiency and safety.
 
● To present latest innovations of the technology with new instrumentation, better ergonomics and different concepts such as single-port laparoscopic surgery.
 
● To establish standards for training globally for minimally invasive and robotic surgery.
 
● To contribute in determining minimally invasive and robotic health care policies.
 
● To impart Training in robotic surgical techniques in well-established procedures in General Surgery, Urology, Gynecology and Pediatrics.
 
TARGET AUDIENCE:
 
The target audience includes: General Surgeons, Gynecologist,  Bariatric Surgeons, Endoscopic Surgeons, Colon/Rectal Surgeons, Oncological Surgeons, Pediatric Surgeons, allied Health Professionals, students, who are interested in robotics surgery.
