Dear Mr. Malhotra We can understand your problem and can remove the mesh. But it is not guaranteed that after the removal of mesh your problem will be solved. The pain could be due to nerve damage or adhesion. We would like to send you the video of your laparoscopic TEP repair of the hernia. You can ask the video from your surgeon. After seeing the video we can have some idea why you have pain. |

Thank you for sending a quick response to my email. I do understand that my symptoms may not be solved after removing mesh but I do have some concerns related to mesh removal surgery. So is it possible to schedule an Online Consultation with Doctor? Also regarding the Video, the hospital is telling me they don’t record the surgery which I know is a complete lie. How do you suggest me to get the video from the hospital then? Your thoughts and suggestions would give me a helping hand. Thank you in Advance and if there is any fee for an online consult, I’m ready to pay it. |

Dear Ankit, Mesh removal surgery also depends on which type of mesh your surgeon has used, that's why we are asking for video. However, you may get detail of the mesh they have used from the OT note. As far as online consultation is required we can get it for free from our consultant but the surgical patient does not get many benefits from online consultation. Online consultation is good for medicine patients. As a surgeon, we get an idea by physical examination by touching the area of mesh application. Pressing specific points to know the tenderness. We request you to come to our hospital for consultation once the CORONA pandemic is over. |

Surgeons use 3D Bard mesh to fix my bilateral inguinal hernia, it is also mentioned in my Discharge summary and operative notes. I’m attaching the same for your records. I met with the local surgeon here and he clinically observed that on the left side where mesh was placed is tender and right side seems to be okay. I’m really not sure when CORONA will end and even research shows it is going to be here for another 2-3 years or lifetime. I can’t wait for that much to get treatment. Are there any other options you suggest? I’m ready to visit whenever the doctor is available for consultation. Please let me know the possible ways. |
