my brother had an attack of pancreatitis. has gallstones for the last four years. he was in ICU for 6 days and has recovered now. but doctors have advised to get rid of the gall stones ASAP. how is normal cholecystetomy different from that in a person having pancreatitis attack. how long should one wait before going for removal of stones. Whih intervention to use open surgery or laproscopic. |

Dear Mr. Sudha Kant You should get the laparoscopic cholecystectomy done as soon as possible. Laparoscopy is nowadays gold standard for Gall stone disease and conventional surgery (Open Surgery) is no more performed in any big hospital. At our hospital it will cost you 30,000 rupees as complete package. |
