my mom is 88 years old, had several dialations in past, ER recently ordered a barium drink x-ray and the report says she has a massive hernia pushing her stomach up into chest. She is in a nursing home. would laproscopic surgery to pull down the stomach & wrap with mesh be adviseable? One GI Dr said no. will get 2nd opinion. |

Dear Johnson The decision of surgery can only be taken once our consultant will examine your mother physically. The age of your mother is not appropriate for surgery and it may not be possible to perform surgery. With regards Sadhana |
