Dear Mr. Ojha Throughout a Puestow procedure, also known as a lateral pancreaticojejunostomy, the abdomen is opened by having an incision from the lower breastbone to the belly button. The open surgery and laparoscopic surgery both is good option. The pancreas is exposed and the main pancreatic duct is opened in the Puestow procedure to go to the tail from the pancreas. The opened pancreatic duct will be attached to a loop of small intestine so that the pancreas drains into the intestines. Puestow procedure procedure continues to be done with much success for pain associated with chronic pancreatitis for over Half a century. Having a success rate of approximately 70 - 90 percent, Puestow procedure includes a variable operative complication rate along with a really low mortality rate. With regards Sadhana |
