Dear Mrs Usha Gupta As your age is now 51 and already you have tried medical treatment we will advice you to get laparoscopic hysterectomy done. Laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH) is really a surgical procedure using a laparoscope to steer the removal of the uterus and/or Fallopian tubes and ovaries with the vagina. A different procedure, known as a laparoscopic hysterectomy, is entirely performed utilizing a laparoscope along with other instruments inserted through tiny abdominal incisions, and also the uterus, Fallopian tubes etc. are removed in tiny portions. Not every hysterectomies can or ought to be done by LAVH. In a few instances, a laparoscopic hysterectomy may be sufficient. In some cases, an abdominal hysterectomy or a vaginal hysterectomy is indicated. The surgeon determines the appropriate procedure for every individual case based on the reason for the hysterectomy and the medical history and condition from the patient. A laparoscope is a viewing tube by which structures inside the abdomen and pelvis can be seen. A little surgical incision is created within the abdominal wall allowing the laparoscope to go in the abdomen or pelvis. Additional tubes can also be pushed through the same or other small incisions allowing the introduction of probes and other instruments. In this manner, surgical treatments can be carried out without the need for a sizable surgical incision. With regards M.K. Gupta |
