My mother(neera kumaria) is suffering from ventral hernia since past 1.5 years...she decided not to operate because there was no pain in the effected area...instead she opted for homeopathic treatment which has no effect till now. Yesterday night she experienced pain in the hernia region.today morning the pain vanished...what should be your advice..in this case...should we opt for surgery right now or wait for a few more days....
please reply to my query.

Thanking you

Dear Gaurav Kumaria

Hernia can not me treated by medicine because it is not a decease but defect. Laparoscopic repair of ventral hernia is gold standard and you should get surgery of your Mom as soon as possible.

Our experience with 950 laparoscopic repair of ventral hernia accumulated over 12 years has demonstrated it to be an effective and safe approach to the abdominal wall hernia. It can be performed in complex surgical patients with a low rate of conversion to open surgery, a short hospital stay, a moderate complication rate, and a low risk of recurrence is found.

With regards
