My age is 65 year and my height is 5 feet 2 inch. My weight is 124 kg. I dont have any other disease. When I consulted one surgeon in Kuwait he told at this age of 65 year I should not go for laparoscopic bariatric surgery. I want to know is there any upper limit to get bariatric surgery done. If I will come to World Laparoscopy Hospital, India would you perform sleeve gastrectomy for me. If yes what will be the cost of surgery. |

Dear Mohammed Ismail Sabbar There is no upper age limit for this type of surgery. However, the procedure is riskier for anyone older than 65. Moreover because the co morbid conditions like high blood pressure, heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, asthma etc is more prevalent in elderly patients the Bariatric Surgery becomes risky in old age. Yes we will do the Sleeve Gastrectomy for you the total package of this surgery would be around eight thousand US Dollars (USD 8000/ )only. Thanks With Regards Dr J S Chowhan |
