Heat-induced skin infections and itching can be very uncomfortable. Here are some steps you can take to help relieve the itching and treat the infection: Cool Compresses: Apply cool, damp cloths to the affected areas to help soothe itching. Hydration: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, as this can help maintain skin moisture. Loose Clothing: Wear loose, breathable clothing to avoid further irritation. Cool Baths: Take cool baths with added colloidal oatmeal or baking soda to soothe the skin. Antihistamines: Over-the-counter antihistamines, like diphenhydramine (Benadryl) or cetirizine (Zyrtec), can help reduce itching. Topical Treatments: Calamine Lotion: This can provide relief from itching. Hydrocortisone Cream: Over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream can reduce inflammation and itching. Antifungal Creams: If the infection is fungal, antifungal creams can help. Avoid Scratching: Try to avoid scratching the affected areas to prevent further irritation or infection. Keep Skin Dry: After sweating, shower and dry your skin thoroughly. Moist environments can worsen infections. Natural Remedies: Aloe Vera: Applying aloe vera gel can soothe and cool the skin. Coconut Oil: It has anti-inflammatory properties that can help with itching and irritation. |
