I live in the UAE as a tourist, and I want to apply for residency visa. My fear is if I will be denied the residency visa due to my past medical history or if I will deported. I once suffered from TB, its healed now after taken medication for 8 months. So advice me on what will be the likely decision of the dubai authority on my case. I have done a sputum test if the bacteria is there, but its negative.

Pulmonary fibrosis is a lung disease that occurs when lung tissue becomes damaged and scarred. This thickened, stiff tissue makes it more difficult for your lungs to work properly. As pulmonary fibrosis worsens, you become progressively more short of breath.

The scarring associated with pulmonary fibrosis can be caused by a multitude of factors. But in most cases, doctors can't pinpoint what's causing the problem. When a cause can't be found, the condition is termed idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

The lung damage caused by pulmonary fibrosis can't be repaired, but medications and therapies can sometimes help ease symptoms and improve quality of life. For some people, a lung transplant might be appropriate.

Treatment options include:

1. Medications: Certain medicines like nintedanib and pirfenidone can slow the progression of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in some people. These drugs have side effects such as nausea and diarrhea, and they can cause liver damage.

2. Oxygen Therapy: This can help reduce shortness of breath and allows you to maintain active for longer periods.

3. Pulmonary Rehabilitation: This program focuses on exercises, breathing techniques, nutritional counseling, and psychological counseling to help you stay more active and manage your symptoms.

4. Lung Transplant: In severe cases, a lung transplant might be an option.

Regarding old TB (tuberculosis) chest scars, these are generally permanent marks left on the lungs after TB infection. These scars usually don't cause problems if the TB is fully treated, but they can sometimes lead to complications or be mistaken for other lung diseases in imaging tests. There isn't a standard treatment to remove these scars, and they typically don't require intervention unless they're causing specific problems.

It's important to work with healthcare providers to understand the best treatment options for your specific situation, as they can vary greatly depending on the individual's health status and the severity of the disease.
