I have a 7mm stone in my kidney. Can it be removed with medication or will I have to undergo surgery? Please tell me.

A 7mm kidney stone is typically considered too large to pass on its own, but it may not necessarily require surgery. Treatment options can vary depending on factors such as the stone's location, your symptoms, and your overall health. Here are some possibilities:

Medication: Certain medications can help manage pain and facilitate the passage of smaller stones. However, for a stone of this size, medication alone may not be effective.

Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lith-otripsy (ESWL): This non-invasive procedure uses shock waves to break the stone into smaller pieces that can be passed more easily.

Ureteroscopy: This procedure involves using a thin tube to remove the stone or break it up if it's located in the ureter.

Percutaneous Nephrolith-otomy: This is a surgical option for larger stones, where a small incision is made in the back to remove the stone directly.
