Endometriosis and fibroids can both impact fertility and pregnancy outcomes, and there is a possibility of recurrence after surgery. Here’s a breakdown of the key points:

Recurrence:

Endometriosis and fibroids can recur after surgical removal, particularly if the underlying causes are not addressed. Studies suggest that recurrence rates for endometriosis can range from 20% to 50% within five years post-surgery.

Factors such as age, severity of the condition, and type of surgery performed can influence the likelihood of recurrence.

Impact on Pregnancy:

Endometriosis: It can affect fertility by causing adhesions, blocking fallopian tubes, or impacting ovulation. However, many women with endometriosis can still conceive, especially after treatment.

Fibroids: They can also impact fertility and pregnancy, depending on their size and location. Submucosal fibroids (those that grow into the uterine cavity) are more likely to affect implantation and pregnancy.

Larger fibroids can lead to complications during pregnancy, such as preterm labor or placenta previa.
Post-Surgery Considerations:

After surgery, it’s important to monitor for any symptoms of recurrence and work closely with your healthcare provider to manage your health and fertility options.

Discussing your pregnancy plans with a healthcare provider can help determine the best approach for monitoring and managing your endometriosis and fibroids.
