It depends upon the size of cyst, its location etc. You should get consultation. In many situation renal cyst does not need surgical intervention also. |

Thanks for the prompt response. However, the CT scan confirmed the renal cyst and for almost two years I urinate with blood it. My urine is deep brown. The Doctors in Ghana informed me that they do not have medicine to treatment the cyst apart from surgery. I will be very grateful to you if you can recommend medicine for me to buy because I have imported several herbal medicines without solution. Please, do help. Thanks and God richly bless you. Dear Tungri, Thanks for the response. The Cyst might be a single solitary cyst. I have blood in my urine always and sometimes its so disturbing. I have attached the CT Scan report for your perusal. Please help for I am very worried. Thank you and God richly bless you. |

Dear Sir, You need reinvestigation because the size of cyst is not defined. Actually all the investigation has to be done in order to rule out any medical disease. Anyway if surgery is required it will cost you approximately 1,20,000 rupees at our hospital. With regards Sadhana |

Doctor stated I've a 7 cm cyst in my left kidney which required to remove the whole kidney. Is there any other option beside open surgery to remove the whole left kidney ? How much would it cost approximately? Dear Bumblebee, If renal function of left kidney is completely lost then only Nephrectomy is required. I had an Ultra Sound in October and was informed that I have "a huge cyst" measuring 13cm on my left kidney. I am going on holiday to Australia and New Zealand in April 2016 from Republic of Ireland. I am still waiting to see a Consultant locally. Will I be able to fly if nothing is done? Dear Robert Garforth Please keep in mind that this huge cyst can rupture if there is trauma. I have a small cyst in kidney like 2 cm So what i do. Dear Abbas Simple kidney cysts that are not causing any symptoms or blocking the flow of blood or urine through the kidney may not need to be treated. If it is symptomatic it can be treated using a procedure called sclerotherapy. In sclerotherapy, the urologist will punctures the cyst using a long needle inserted through the skin. Ultrasound is used to guide the needle puncture to the cyst. You can get this surgery done at World Laparoscopy Hospital or please contact any nearby urologist who has experience of doing it. Dear Sankalp You don't need to worry about the renal cyst. Renal cysts are sacs of fluid that form in the kidneys. They are usually characterized as “simple” cysts, meaning they have a thin wall and contain water-like fluid. Renal cysts are fairly common in older people and usually do not cause symptoms or harm. Because they rarely cause symptoms, renal cysts are most often found during imaging tests performed for other reasons. They generally do not require treatment unless they are causing symptoms or harming kidney function. Treatment options include Sclerotherapy. It is also known as percutaneous alcohol ablation, sclerotherapy involves the insertion of a long needle through the skin and into the cyst under ultrasound guidance. The doctor will drain the cyst and fill it with an alcohol-based solution that causes the tissue to harden and shrink, reducing the chance of recurrence. The procedure is usually performed on an outpatient basis with a local anesthetic. For larger cysts, a surgeon will make a small incision and access the cyst with a laparoscope. My mother is diagnosed 5 CM cyst in right kidney, doctor is advising to remove kidney but their is no symptoms can you suggest what we have to do Reply:- For this we have to see the report only then we can tell what would be the right thing to do.
