In april we found thrgh ultrasound my wife has 1 cyst on the leftside of ovary it was 8.6cm. The gync in India said she will go for open surgergy but wife has to return back to the Netherlands She residing in abroad in amsterdam and there she is going through chkups i may it was 7cm on the left side of the ovary and they also took tissue from left side to cif they r ok and the report was good . and last month the docs found 2 cyst on bothethe side of ovaries on the left it is 7 cm and right is 3.5 cm. last week again she went for chkup they couldnt find the right cyst according to them it is maybe attchd with left ...after so much waiting they finally decide to operate. they said they will do laproscopy and if it didint work out they will do open surgery.She is very tensed..(Extra infomation : monthly cycle is on time, pain in lowerabdominal, weight gain,)can u plz suggest what to do and give ur feedback on this she hardly dont trust the docs there. Waiting for ur reply |

Dear Mr. Deshmukh According to your history right cyst seems like follicular cyst. Left look line true pathological cyst. Follicular cysts can form when ovulation does not occur or when a mature follicle involutes. A follicular cyst usually forms at the time of ovulation and can grow to about 2.3 inches in diameter. The rupture of this type of cyst can create sharp severe pain on the side of the ovary on which the cyst appears. This sharp pain occurs in the middle of the menstrual cycle, during ovulation. About one-fourth of women with this type of cyst experience pain. Usually, these cysts produce no symptoms and disappear by themselves within a few months. For left side of cyst your doctor has taken correct decision to operate. Ovarian cysts affect women of all ages. The vast majority of ovarian cysts are considered functional. This means they occur normally and are not part of a disease process. It is very interesting to learn that most ovarian cysts are benign, meaning they are not cancerous, and many disappear on their own in a matter of weeks without treatment. While cysts may be found in ovarian cancer, ovarian cysts typically represent a harmless condition or a normal process. Ovarian cysts occur most often during a woman's childbearing years. We don't know without seeing ultrasound what is the real nature of your cyst but keep faith in your doctor which will help you to heal faster. With regards Sadhana |
