Dear Suchita Khanna
Many scientific studies have shown aspirin to various pregnancy complications. Theses studies show that taking aspirin around the time of conception and in early pregnancy is associated with an increased risk of miscarriage. Gynecologists believe that taking aspirin at adult doses during pregnancy might affect the baby's growth and may slightly increase the risk of a placental abruption. A part of the placenta separates from the uterus. Finally, taking full-dose aspirin later in pregnancy might delay labour and increase the risk of heart and related lung problems in your newborn, and bleeding complications for you and your intrauterine baby.

So we will advice you to avoid aspirin during pregnancy. You should consult your gynecologist to reconsider it.

However, in certain situations, your gynaecologist may advise you to take a small dose of aspirin each day this dose is usually no more than one quarter of the normal adult dose, most believe this low-dose aspirin therapy is safe. For example, some gynecologist believe that women with a condition called Hughes Syndrome, also known as "sticky blood syndrome" or antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) benefit from taking low-dose aspirin beginning early in pregnancy. If you have recurrent miscarriages are more likely to have antiphospholipid syndrome. This is one of the group of conditions where the body becomes immune to one of its own tissues and produces antibodies to that tissue.
