I have a large fibroid 10 cm X 10 Cm in the exterior wall of the uterus. I had a miscarage last week because of it. I need to get rid of it and have babies. |

Dear Ahlam We can perform Robotic Myomectomy for your big fibroid. Fibroids are the most common gynecological tumor in women. Clinical studies show that 20-25% of women of reproductive age have fibroids. Post-mortem studies show the incidence in all women is as high as 75%. Although these tumors are for the most part benign, there can be a malignancy rate of 0.1-0.2%. Studies show that these benign tumors (also known as fibroids, leiomyomas, fibromas or myomas) are 4-6 times more common in African American women that in Caucasian women, which suggests a possible genetic predisposition. Symptoms vary greatly. Some women are fortunate enough to be completely asymptomatic, but their fibroids are usually insignificant in size. Most women experience at least one of the following complaints or side effects: Pelvic Pain Increased menstrual cramps Increased menstrual flow Clots Irregular or painful periods Increased urinary frequency Constipation Bloating A brand new category of non-invasive myomectomy, da Vinci ® Myomectomy, combines the very best of open and laparoscopic surgery. Using the aid of the da Vinci Surgical System - the most recent evolution in robotics technology - surgeons can remove uterine fibroids through small incisions with unmatched precision and control. One of the potential benefits of da Vinci Myomectomy when compared with traditional open abdominal surgery are: Chance of future pregnancy Significantly less pain Less blood loss Fewer complications Less scarring A shorter hospital stay A faster return to normal day to day activities da Vinci Myomectomy is performed with the da Vinci ®Surgical System, which allows your surgeon to carry out a non-invasive, yet remarkably precise, comprehensive reconstruction of the uterine wall, whatever the size or location of the fibroids. The initial level of control and precision of da Vinci can also help your surgeon supply the most precise and thorough reconstruction possible. That can help to avoid a potential uterine rupture (tearing) during future pregnancies. Just like any surgery, these benefits can't be guaranteed, as surgical treatment is unique to every patient and procedure. While myomectomy performed while using da Vinci Surgical Product is considered safe and effective, this process might not be appropriate for every individual. Always ask your doctor about all treatment options, in addition to their risks and benefits. |
