Dear Ravi Yadav We can perform laparoscopic splenectomy for you but your mother should be medically fit to tolerate surgery and anaesthesia. Most patients can have a laparoscopic splenectomy. Though the experience of the surgeon may be the biggest element in a successful outcome, the size of the spleen is an essential determinant in deciding whether the spleen can be removed laparoscopically. Once the size the spleen is extremely large, it is not easy to do the laparoscopic technique. Sometimes, plugging the artery to the spleen before surgery using special X-ray technology can shrink the spleen to permit the laparoscopic technique. You can have a comprehensive evaluation by a surgeon qualified in laparoscopic spleen removal together with consultation together with your physicians to discover if the way is right for you.
