I have very small carcnoid tumors in my stomach. I was on somastatin and I can't continue because of the effect on my type 2 diabetes. Now it has been suggested than I have my Antrum removed laparoscpically at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles calif. The doctor has only done the procedure 7 times. I don't know of any other place in my area that does it this way. The hope is to stop the production of gastrin and clear up the small tumors or atleast arrest them. Please tell me your thoughts or if you know of any other hospitals in the Los Angeles Calif area that do the surgery this way. Thank you so much, Sandra Raymer |

Dear Sandra Raymer If the doctor has done 7 surgery also you can get this surgery performed by him because your case is not frequent. However, Department of Surgery, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY, USA is a good center you can contact for your surgery. With regards Dr. Chowhan |
