Dear Nandita If you are suffering with irregular periods, it clearly indicates that your menstrual cycle has lost its balance. Actually, most irregular periods are benign and do not cause any complications for your health. Your gynecologist has given Meprate and this is the main treatment. MEPRATE is a synthetic progestogen structurally related to natural progesterone with actions and uses similar to all other progestogens in general use. It is used prior to the treatment of secondary amenorrhoea and for abnormal uterine bleeding not due to organic pathology in suitable doses. The dose is individualized as advised by the physician. MEPRATE is also indicated for mild and moderate endometriosis in dosage ranging from 10mg to 30mg by mouth. MEPRATE is indicated also for re-programming the menstrual cycle as per the physicians requirement. As a corollary, it can also be used for postponement of menses as per individual requirement. MEPRATE can also be used to induce menstrual bleeding in a woman of reproductive age, if she has secondary amenorrhoea, in the dosage to be determined by the physician. MEPRATE may also be used in the palliative treatment of some hormone dependent malignant neoplasms. MEPRATE-2.5 can be a valuable adjuvant in women on Hormone Replacement Therapy (estrogen replacement therapy) who have intact uterus, for protection against endometrial hyperplasia. I have been diagnosed with cystic glandular hyperplasia with mild atypia through a biopsy D & C. Have been put on meprate 30 mg since the last two weeks. Was not supposed to have any bleeding but started slight bleeding 4 days ago which has increased since yesterday. What needs to be done? Dear Gita The natural history and biological behavior of cystic glandular hyperplasia (CGH), which has been considered to be a precursor of endometrial carcinoma, still remain unclear. |

Hi Doctor Iam 36 yrs old. I had irregular periods six months back like only spottings during menstural cycle which lasted for 10 days or so. My doctor asked me to take PRIMOLUT N for 21 days to regularize my periods. after that iam facing this problem again. should i take PRIMOLUT N again or MEPRATE 10 ( which one has the least side effect?) Are they both same or the later has estrogen also with progestrone. I need your advice please. sai chitra Dear Chitra You did not write your age and how many children you have. These informations are important to give you the exact advice. With regard J S Chowhan |

I have pcod problm i have taken10 meprate tablet but its almost 7 days but my period still not come How much time it take to come period. Dear Mrs Jain Medical treatment of PCOD take three to 6 month to give its effect. If medical therapy fails then laparoscopic ovarian drilling can help you to get rid the problem of PCOD.
