Dear Patronella Generally fibroid does not create any problem for your baby. The good news is that the great majority of pregnant women who have fibroids give birth to healthy babies. In pregnant woman estrogen levels significantly rise during early pregnancy, and so fibroids can grow tenfold or more in size. The traditional method of measuring a gravid abdomen to determine a baby approximate size can give a false sense of security, as the fibroids can throw off the numbers. But in recent year thanks to major medical advances in the last 30 years, that the baby and the fibroids can be monitored in ways never before possible due to 4D Ultrasound. Ultrasounds and other tests are used to track the size of baby in uterus and the location of the fibroids so there is a fair chance of good outcome and most of the mother with fibroid generally deliver health baby without any complication. Howerver, You should remain in contact of your gynecologist and follow her advice regularly. With regards J.S. Chown |
