Dear Shipra Sharma Unfortunately you did not write the age of your father but as you have mention he has cirrhosis of liver in this case cardiac bypass surgery will be difficult because anesthetic will not be ready to give anesthesia and due to deranged liver function it will be problem with the surgical wound healing and clotting profile. As far as problem of heart is concerned. The extent of disease, number of arteries affected and overall health of the patient influences treatment outcomes. Willingness to eat a healthy diet and otherwise change negative habits improves chances for a good prognosis. A patient's ability to follow medical advice will also determine recovery time from procedures such as coronary artery bypass graft. A patient can sometimes start with medication but need other, more invasive treatment like angioplasty or bypass grafting later. So please get advice of a good cardiologist and calculate risk versus benefit of surgery. With regards J S Chowhan |
