I have been experienced heavy period as well as low back pain and after my period ends three to four days later i see spotting or discharge. I am trying to get pregnant then had a miscariage. My physician suggested to have Laparscopy and hysteroscopy. She already did the HSG and found out one of my flopian tube is block as well as seen something looks like fibroid or polps inside my uteres. I am not sure what to do? Should i have to have both procedure or one would be enough to treat the problem.

Dear Dega Abdi

HSG is not a confirmatory investigation for tubal patency test or uterine fibroid. If the HSG indicates further investigations are warranted, a laparoscopy, assisted by hysteroscopy, may be advised to visualise the area in three dimensions, with the potential to resolve minor issues within the same procedure. HSG is not very good investigation to diagnose fibroid or polyps inside my uterus

We will advice you to get one ultrasound to diagnose fibroid uterus which you are expecting.

If unfortunately it comes true that you have fallopian tube blockage at the same session with the help of Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy your problem can be solved.
