Infection after Laproscopic surgery

operation date - 3rd september Patient - Female(54 years) pain started from right next day. Upon being asked by the doctor to walk the next day it was very painfull right at the incision port near the gallbladder. AFter being released from the hospital the pain was still same for next one wek. upon visiting the doctor again after 7 days doctors said and doubted infection as there was redness around the holes. There were 3 incisions made out of which one is healed and the other two are now infected. I am on antibiotics now and its ben almost 3 weeks but still its not completely healed. the infected holes still keep discharging. Medicines pescribed: PITZo 4.5g - injection(total taken 14) After this injection(at the begening the pain became a bit less) Now ater completing the course of antibiotics my mom is already in, doctor has prescribed ACURIT-3. I am very worried as i am not sure why my mom's infection is not healed even after having so much of antibiotics. Please suggest. We are from north East(assam). Please let me know if you need any more information regarding the treatment and medicines. |

Dear writuraj kaushik Generally infection after laparoscopic cholecystectomy is not common but if your Mom has got infected now the only option remain is culture and sensitivity of Pus and administration of appropriate antibiotic. With regards J S Chowhan |
