Dear Marel Secondary amenorrhoea is relatively common sometime is reproductive age group female. It is estimated that around 1 in 25 women will be affected by absent periods at some point in their lives. Due to stress and strain and change in lifestyle can be one of the cause in you and it is temporary phase. It is more common in teenage girls and younger women when they have just started there menses, and can be much more common in certain groups, such as professional athletes, dancers and gymnasts, because of their strenious job. If you are not starting your periods soon which is much less common, affecting an estimated 1 in every 300 girls and women. So we will advive you to take adequate rest and if the mense does not come in next cycle you should get consultation of a good gynecologist. Please dont forget to think about possibility of pregnancy which is a common cause of amenorrhoes. With regards M.K. Gupta |
