could you please advise. whilst having a stent replaced, which was encrusted due to being overdue change,could other organs be damaged during the surgery ie bowel? |

Dear Beverley Though DJ stent generally does not create problem as they are often so comfortable that patients may forget they have them, they are not without risks. Surgery for removal of Double J stent should be done carefully as the injury of Kidney, Urinary bladder and Bowel and Ureter are not uncommon. With regards M.K. Gupta |
