Dear Madhuri

Genital tuberculosis (TB) in ladies is actually no means uncommon, particularly in communities like India where pulmonary or other kinds of extragenital Tuberculosis infection are routine.

TB may affect any body organ, can exist with no clinical manifestation, and can recur.

Tuberculosis, MTB, or TB short for tubercle bacillus is a common, infectious disease caused by various strains of mycobacteria, usually Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Tuberculosis typically attacks the lungs, but can also affect other parts of the body as in your case reproductive organ. It is spread through the air when people who have an active TB infection cough, sneeze, or otherwise transmit their saliva through the air.

Most infections are asymptomatic and latent, but about one in ten latent infections eventually progresses to active disease which, if left untreated.

TB is just about the important communicable disease on the planet. Since the beginning in the 20th century, the incidence of TB in general and genital TB more particularly continues to be steadily declining in developed countries. However, TB remains a serious health issue in lots of developing countries, plus these areas, genital TB accounts for an important proportion of females presenting with infertility.

TB affects almost 50% of the population in Third World countries. Nearly Thirty million persons have active TB, and 7-10 million people die annually of TB. But in your case the danger of life is not there but infertility is the problem.

So you should get your treatment of tuberculosis started as advised by your gynecologist who has done laparoscopy.
