When my gallblader was taken out febr 20 it was adhered to colon an omentum After surgery 5th or 6th day I started having complaints. As it turns out in hindsight one can derive from the hida scan there was a fistula between gallbladder and colon that has been overlooked and hence was not closed on colon part during operation Since it has not killed me yet, it must be a small hole, but I am really very sick and in a lot of pain My surgeon, whom I do not blame for this because he is so nice, is in denial. What can I do? Can it close by itself? Can another surgeon find the hole and by what test? Can it be closed still and how? Can I get on a plain with this complication? If there were a bile leak somewhere in the body is there always proof of that in the blood results, even when there were no stones and the leaking bile is sterile? |

Dear Maria Course of these type of injury is very unpredictable and outcome depends upon the extent of injury, patients co morbidity and postoperative care. Without doing thorough investigation we can not tell you prognosis. With regards J S Chowhan |
