Hi, My laparoscopy to do cystectomy and to see if I have endometriosis is scheduled next month. I was told that I have to administer Misoprostol vaginally before the procedure. Is it really necessary? Will it affect future pregnancies? Thanks |

Dear Linta In nulliparous woman Misoprostol vaginally before the procedure is essential to minimize cervical tear. Gynecologist use it because it decreases the cervical resistance, reduces the need for further cervical dilatation, facilitates the cervical dilatation (if it is required) and operative procedures minimizing cervical or uterine injuries.
