Dear Deepak For few month you too stop taking beer and excessive sweets. You may need to continue your medicine for some more time after taking advice of your skin specialist. Diabetes, especially if it is uncontrolled or you do not know you have it, increases your likelihood of candidal balanitis because of the amount of sugar in your urine. It is a common cause of recurrent balanitis, and usually affects older men. Cleaning your penis twice a day with a weak saline solution (salt water) can be soothing and relieve discomfort. To make a weak saline solution, mix a teaspoonful of salt into half a litre (500ml) of warm water. Alternatively, you could also try using an aqueous cream (eg E45 cream) to soothe and clean the area. Sometime, circumcision is used to treat balanitis. Circumcision is an operation to remove the foreskin from the penis. With regard Dr J S Chowhan |

Sir, i was suffering from almost same problem i.e. redness, itchiness, cracked skin almost 2 years ago while staying in hostel. So, doctor suggested me Zydip*-c cream, some anti fungal soap, some tablets and powder. It relieved me that time. But after 3-4 months the problem comes back during menses. But suppresses after applying the cream for 4-5 days regularly. Can you please suggest me some permanent solution to this problem... Kindly reply Dear Madam You should not stop the fungal medicine without full course. Please consult your physician and continue medicine for long time. With regard R.K. Mishra |
